informative walk about lichens with gardener Sam Mularz!
Sam will take participants on a tour around the Garden,
focusing on the diverse lichens growing and thriving in our rich ecosystems.
Lichens are collaborative organisms composed of both a fungus and an alga,
which depend on each other to grow. These lifeforms are essential to healthy
ecosystems and first brought the term symbiosis to biology. What better way to
celebrate entangled life than by diving into the fascinating and beautiful
world of lichens? We invite you to bring your valentine along!
Dress cozy and feel free to bring a thermos of hot tea or
coffee. This event will be rain or shine. The walk has some sloped and uneven
trails, stairs, paved and gravel pathways. If you have questions about
