Do trees share nutrients? Do they warn each other of pest invasions? Do some species help other species seasonally, and get paid back in other seasons? We'll discuss how science has shown these new discoveries, and along the way we’ll visit the Johnson Creek Riparian Area habitat and the historic Stone Cabin.

About Your Guide: Tony Krause started out as a biology major and somehow ended up with degrees in psychology.  He has been a docent in state parks, leading walks on marine mammals and birds, and once wrote a book on local wildlife, but then he rediscovered the Northwest, and has been leading walks at Leach for about five years.
